His roots sunk deeply in RBWI history going back to the late 1980's, Mr. Groff pioneered the art to the Bahamas and built a successful stable of practitioners that persist to this day. His accomplishments and skills are impressive and include Security Specialist, MMA fighter, Ministry, Outdoorsman, Black Belt Instructor, and longstanding ringside commentator for XKO. Mr. Christopher Doner
A native of Ohio, Mr. Doner traveled to the midwest to pursue extensive training with Mr. Bussey beginning in 1983. His loyalty and dedication to RBWI led to his black belt standings and his own affiliate branch. Over these many years he has remained not only active in the field of personal protection, but has acquired extensive corporate security experience in addition to his various roles as an edged weapons specialist and published writer. He also had the foresight over the decades to acquire perhaps the most extensive collection of RBWI historical paraphernalia including, magazine articles, Bussey camp shirts, training tools, etc.. Please join us in saluting Christopher Doner for his dedication, example, and continued contribution toward making our world a safer place.

For over three decades, Mr. Krueger has been been a dedicated practitioner of realistic combat tactics and has served as an instructor and positive mentor to countless individuals. As one of the original RBWI black belts under Robert Bussey going back to the famed 72nd street era, he earned a reputation through years of attending camps, seminars, and events as a man with remarkable mastery and christian humility. Appearing with Mr. Bussey at UFC 2 in Denver as well as numerous national magazines playing the fall guy, Mr. Krueger has our collective respect and gratitude for a lifetime of support and service. Congratulations!

A true American Patriot and former Army Ranger, Mr. Paranto is probably best known as the Hero of Benghazi, saving over 20 lives while fighting off terrorists as part of the CIA annex security detail in Libya. The September 11th, 2012 attack on the US State Department Special Missions Compound was the subject of the book,"13 HOURS" by Mitchell Zuckoff and a sucessful feature film. Mr. Paranto shared his experiences and his courageous ability to keep fighting against all odds in his book, "THE RANGER WAY". Ranked and studied in Bussey Combat principals, it is our honor to induct Mr. Paranto as our choice for the 2017 A.R.C. Award. You are a great American. We all salute you Sir!

As the creator and founder of the U.F.C. Art Davie has completely transformed the landscape of Martial Arts, not only in the U.S. but around the world. In the brutal beginnings of the sport, stylists faced off in bare knuckle fashion putting to rest many of the falacies associated with martial arts. After it's very first event, Mr. Davie invited and awarded Robert Bussey with a special plaque at UFC 2 in the spring of 1994. Besides serving his country as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Davie studied Political Science at St.John's University and is the author of the best selling book, "IS THIS LEGAL? The inside story of the 1st UFC. Congratulations Sir, we salute you.

For decades, Mrs. Falgout has been teaching and training in Bussey tactics, first as an RBWI Instructor under Michael Bussey, and later through her collaboration with other stable experts in Arlington Texas. Yvonne is a devoted mother, wife, and community program director. She is the longest active female instructor in the RBWI family, and has devoted her life to the development and safety of others. She has worked tirelessly to improve conditions within our society.

Mr. David Weiss
For his enormous contribution to martial arts. During America's popular Ninja Craze, Mr. Weiss served as the editor of Ninja Magazine, a U.S. publication by Condor Books, NY, from 1983 to the summer of 1995. Articles featuring Robert Bussey and his teachings appeared in virtually every issue. A centerfold poster of Bussey in action was voted the all time favorite by readers from all over the world. Al Weiss, Davids father, was the respected editor of Official Karate Magazine, where Bussey first appeared in a national martial arts publication in 1980.

Mr. Darren James LaBonte (Posthumous)
Darren James LaBonte, 35, was trained in R.B.W.I. along with his brother David. Darren was a skilled Bussey technician, a patriot, and devoted family man. Darren LaBonte was one of seven CIA employees who died at a U.S. base in Khost Afghanistan, on Dec. 30, 2009. We are proud to award the 2012 A.R.C. to Darren / the LaBonte family and honor him for his service and ultimate sacrifice.
